WVCA Awards
WVCA annually awards two (2) achievements at the annual conference.
WVCA Professional Achievement Award recognizes a WVCA member for their outstanding professional achievements and contributions in engaging volunteers in our community. WVCA will present the award recipient with a personal gift and a $100.00 donation to the charity of their choice. Please submit your nomination acknowledging the work and efforts of a valuable volunteer engagement professional.
Your submission of this nomination is acknowledging the work and efforts of a valuable volunteer engagement professional. *NOMINATION DEADLINE IS April 11th of the award year.
Mandatory criteria includes: Attendance at the May 7th-9th, 2025 Conference Thursday's lunch, paid volunteer engagement professional who has been a volunteer professional for at least five years. Outstanding volunteer professional: This may include achievements in recruitment, screening, training, retention, recognition, fundraising, or initiating new programs. Indicate the professional's years of experience and the number of volunteers the professional has managed. Leader among peers: This may includes a member/officer of a professional organization. Involved in their community: This may include service as well as job duties Nominee must be a current WVCA member. You may e-mail wvcamembership@gmail.com to confirm the nominee is a registered member. Resource to other managers: This may include consulting, seminar speaking, or membership of a community coalition/organization. Nominations will be reviewed by the conference committee.

The Rising Star Award recognizes a WVCA member for being an emerging leader in the volunteer management field. The Rising Star Award is for new volunteer engagement professionals with up to 5 years of service in the industry. WVCA will present the aware recipient with a personal gift and a $100.00 donation to the charity of their choice. Please submit your nominations to acknowledge the work and efforts of someone you know in the volunteer profession.
*NOMINATION DEADLINE is April 9th of the award year. Mandatory criteria: Attendance at the May 7th-9th, 2025 Thursday lunch. Paid volunteer engagement professional, in their field for less than five years. Recipients must prove as an emerging leader in the volunteer engagement industry within their organization or with their peers. Current WVCA member. You can e-mail wvcamembership@gmail.com to confirm the nominee is a registered member. Nominations will be reviewed by the Conference Committee.
